Polio Vaccine Campaign: The first Sub-National Immunization Day for 2022 for administering polio vaccine drops is being conducted from June 19 in 11 states and UTs.

In a case of huge negligence, 12 children were given sanitiser instead of oral polio vaccine drops in a village in Yavatmal district of Maharashtra, about 700 km from state capital Mumbai, an official said on Monday.

Around 89 lakh children under the age of five, as per provisional data, were given polio drops across the country on Sunday on the occasion of Polio National Immunization Day, also known as "Polio Ravivar", the Union health ministry said.
