Nestle India Chairman and Managing Director Suresh Narayanan asserted that the company's infant food formulation for children below 18 months is done on a global basis and the allegation that "it is racially stereotyped is unfortunate" and untrue.

Battling the Maggi controversy, global giant Nestle on Friday recalled its current India chief Etienne Benet to Switzerland head office and appointed Suresh Narayanan as his successor -- the first Indian to get this position after a gap of over 16 years.

Nestle India said in a statement on Friday that its managing director for India, Etienne Benet, would move to the group's head office in Switzerland.
