Mumbai Cop Robber

A 70-year-old woman died and her husband was injured after their mouths were taped and hands tied allegedly by three robbers inside their flat at Tardeo in south Mumbai on Sunday before the accused decamped with gold and other valuables, police said.

The Mumbai Police dressed up as postmen and fruit sellers to track down and arrest a man who robbed gold and Rs 40,000 cash from a flat in Dahisar last year. Two co-accused have also been arrested, police said.

A jewellery shop was allegedly looted by four robbers on Mira Road's Shanti Nagar area, the police said on Friday.

A 36-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the death of a man in south Mumbai recently, the police said.
