A social media post by former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) youth wing functionary Mohit Kamboj implying that one more "big" Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader would go to jail soon sparked a row on Wednesday.

A BJP leader has alleged he was attacked while returning home from a wedding in Mumbai. Visuals tweeted by the BJP leader, Mohit Kamboj Bharatiya, show dents on the door of his Land Rover SUV. The rear door handle is also broken.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case of bank fraud against Bharatiya Janata Party leader Mohit Kamboj alias Mohit Bharatiya and four others for allegedly defrauding the state-run Bank of India to the tune of Rs. 67 crore.

BJP leader Mohit Kamboj has been declared a "wilful defaulter" by the state-run Bank of Baroda. Kamboj, chief of Mumbai unit of Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha who was in news earlier this year when he replaced his last name with "Bhartiya", disputed the bank's action, saying he had paid his dues as a personal guarantor for a loan.

The president of the youth-wing of the BJP on Thursday said he has changed his last name to "Bharatiya". Mohit Kamboj, president of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) said Bharatiya will from now on be his "identity".
