A 15-year-old girl had a narrow escape from a lightning strike while making a reel on the rooftop of her neighbour in Bihar's Sitamarhi district.

A 15-year-old girl survived a lightning strike that hit her Pennsylvania, US, home on Monday. Giana Scaramuzzo's home was among at least five that were struck by lightning. There were no fires, the local fire department informed.

Two girls were killed in a lightning strike in Jharkhand's Palmau district today, taking the toll in similar incidents in the state since Monday to seven, the police said.

"Two persons - a girl student and an old woman - were killed and 11 students injured when lightning struck near Markatola Higher Secondary School in Narharpur block, around 15 km from district headquarters Kanker, Thursday afternoon," superintendent of police Rahul Bhagat said.
