Man hands over country-made bombs to police in Tamil Nadu

A 32-year-old man from Idinthakarai, the epicentre of protests against Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant, created a flutter by handing over to the local police station five country-made bombs allegedly given to him by two persons for "hoarding".

Kudankulam nuclear plant moves a step closer towards generating power

The controversial Kudankulam nuclear plant, which has witnessed widespread protests and several delays, is now a step closer towards generating power. On Saturday night, the nuclear reactor at the first unit of the plant attained criticality, and began the much-awaited nuclear fission process, in its journey towards making electricity.
