In 1990, Roshan Lal Mawa was shot four times by unidentified gunmen as violence against Kashmiri Pandits reached its worst phase. Left with no choice but to leave behind his beloved Kashmir, he picked up the pieces of his shattered life and moved to Delhi. Only, he could never be at home there.

Kashmiri Pandits To Get 6,000 More Transit Homes: Mehbooba Mufti Government

The Mehbooba Mufti government has said 6000 transit homes will be built for Kashmiri Pandits who are willing to come and work in the valley. Land has already been identified for the homes under a Central grant of Rs 1618.4 crore sanctioned in 2008-2009, the government said today in response to a question in the assembly.

Kashmiri Pandits who Returned to the Valley Five Years Ago are Unhappy

1200 pandits returned to different locations in Kashmir five years ago. They were given government jobs. They live in migrant camps - in Budgam, Pulwama, Baramulla and Kupwara - but do not have amenities like ration cards or voter identification cards. Most of them say that they have been let down.
