Indians Captive With Islamic State

The family of Ramamurthy Kosanam, an Indian kidnapped in Libya, is extremely worried. The doctor from Andhra Pradesh was taken by suspected Islamic State terrorists earlier this week along with another person from Odisha who has reportedly managed to escape.

All 39 Indians held hostage in Iraq by the terror group, Islamic State, for more than a year are alive, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj told the families of the victims today, said sources.

13 Indians, all of them Muslim and in most their early twenties traveled abroad in the last 18 months to join the Islamic State, and six of them are reported killed, according to government sources.
