A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the Bombay High Court today sought a direction to the city Police Commissioner to file a case of cheating and forgery against lawmaker and yesteryear actress Hema Malini and Maharashtra Revenue Minister Eknath Khadse on charges of illegally allotting land for her dance academy at a nominal price.

A fresh Right to Information (RTI) query has revealed that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lawmaker Hema Malini allegedly violated the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) Act by destroying mangroves on a plot previously given to her at Versova, for which a notice was served to her in 1998.

After days of silence actor Hema Malini finally met the media at her Juhu residence on Monday. With tongue firmly in cheek regarding the recent controversy, she said: "Thank you for making my institute so popular.
