Fed up with government apathy, villagers in Haryana's Sirsa district have built themselves a bridge they were awaiting for four decades. The 214-feet long, 16-feet wide steel and concrete bridge over river Ghaggar is now a reality.

5000 people evacuated as Yamuna flows above danger mark in Delhi

The muddy, swirling waters of the Yamuna were flowing over the danger mark today, leading to the closure of the city's 145-year-old railway bridge, and forced the evacuation of over 5000 people living along the river banks. Another 400 people have been rescued by government agencies.
