Civil aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) imposed a Rs 70 lakh fine on Air Vistara for not having operated the minimum number of mandated flights to underserved areas of the country's northeast region.

The first officer of the Vistara aircraft in question was landed by the first officer without the captain or the first officer being trained at the simulator, which is a serious violation endangering the lives of the passengers on board.
