Delhi Swimming Pool Death

Police on Sunday arrested two life guards, responsible for security at the government school pool where a 13-year-old boy drowned while learning how to swim on Friday in east Delhi's Farsh Bazar area.

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia today ordered inspection of all swimming pools in the national capital, after a 13-year-old boy drowned in the swimming pool of a government school in Delhi.

A 17-year-old drowned in a swimming pool here, police said on Monday, adding that the owner of the swimming pool has been arrested. Raja, resident of west Delhi's Janta Enclave area, drowned in the pool around 2.30 pm on Sunday. The 12th class student, who did not know how to swim, used to go to the unauthorised pool to learn swimming.

In a tragic incident, a fourth standard boy drowned to death in the school's swimming pool here, police said on Thursday. M Ranjan of Padma Seshadri Bal Bhavan and the son of Tamil movie director Manoharan went swimming with 25 classmates after morning prayers. At the end of the swimming session, the boy was missing.

In a freak tragedy, two youngsters from Delhi drowned to death at Jaipur's three-star Hotel Ashoka.
