The comet measures a colossal 30 kilometres in diameter and orbits the sun in a highly elliptical pattern approximately every 71 years.

The comet commonly referred to as the devil comet, 12P/Pons-Brooks (12P), will be positioned close to the sun during the April 8 total solar eclipse.

These eruptions can create unique visual patterns when viewed through a telescope, such as the devil horns.

The comet has got the unique name because of horn-like structures on the comet due to two explosions.
