Customs authorities at Chennai airport have made massive recoveries of gold in various forms over the past three days, with more than 9 kilograms of it found on nine persons who carried it in their rectums. The precious metal was also seized in the form of bits and chains from the same set of people.

In a major haul, officials today recovered 13 kg of gold at the airport in Chennai, with the value of the seizure estimated to be around Rs 5 crore.
