Boeing Airplane Inspections

US aviation regulators said Monday that more than 2,600 Boeing 737 airplanes would need to be inspected, due to concerns that passenger oxygen masks could fail in emergencies.

The US air safety regulator announced Saturday it was grounding and ordering inspections on some Boeing 737 MAX 9 airplanes a day after a window panel blew out of one of the aircraft over the state of Oregon.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on Wednesday issued a directive for Boeing Co requiring operators of 737 MAX airplanes to conduct additional inspections for the plane's automated flight control system.

Southwest Airlines Co said Wednesday it found cracks on two Boeing 737 NG airplanes and removed them from service after US regulators last week ordered urgent inspections.
