Bareilly: Curfew partially lifted after two days

Curfew was partially lifted in Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly district on Wednesday where violence broke out two days ago, police said. There has been no incident of violence since Monday evening. After the curfew was lifted for two hours in the day, people came out in large numbers to shop, fearing that the curfew might be clamped again.

In a bid to defuse the communal tension in Bareilly, parts of which have been under curfew for virtually10 days, the police on Thursday filed a report before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court closing the investigation against Maulana Tauqir Raza and giving him a clean chit.
