Rajasthan, UP, Bihar Lead In Caste-Based Atrocities: Government Report
Rajasthan has reported the highest number of cases of atrocities against Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes between 2013 and 2015, followed by poll-bound Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar, a new government report said. The Centre also flagged the issue of poor conviction rates in such cases.

Stringent Punishment For Atrocities On Scheduled Castes, Tribes Under New Act
An Act which provides for stringent action against those committing atrocities against Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) communities or indulging in actions which are derogatory to their dignity, including social or economic boycott, will come into effect from tomorrow.
