Assam Monsoon Update

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday predicted heavy to extremely heavy rainfall very likely at isolated places over Assam and Meghalaya.

The flood situation in Bihar remained grim Monday with water level in the Ganga continuing to rise, while heavy rains disrupted normal life in parts of the country, and at least seven persons drowned in inundated water bodies in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

Assam flood news: Normal life has been disrupted in large parts of Assam due to severe flooding. The number of deaths due to flood-related incidents have climbed to 93 in the state and over 28 lakh people have been affected. Goalpara is the worst-hit with over 4.7 lakh people affected.

The Met department forecast says, thunderstorms and heavy rain are expected in of entire Delhi, Meerut, Jhajjar, Bhiwani, Gohana, Jind, Mehem, Manesar, Rohtak and Ghaziabad in the next two hours.
