Ashok Soota has spent four decades in India's technology industry, headed three prominent IT companies and taken two of them public. Now, the 79-year-old is getting his newest venture off the ground with a goal to take it to IPO in five years.

Mr Ashok Soota promoted SKAN Medical Research Trust today announced the grant to the institute towards sponsoring a chair professorship, two new faculty fellowships and one institute research fellowship, creation of a wet-lab and funding of joint medical research projects.

Happiest Minds Technologies' IPO got bids for 3.51 billion shares versus the 23.3 million on offer, ranking it among India's most successful first-time share sales of this decade.
