Power conglomerate National Thermal Power Corporation today denied reports that it has offered jobs to men accused of killing Mohammed Akhlaq -- the 52-year-old man from Dadri's Bisada village, who had been lynched after rumours of beef consumption two years ago.

The family of Mohammed Akhlaq - the 52-year-old man who was lynched by a mob in western Uttar Pradesh last year over suspicion of having eaten beef -- has decided to appeal to the Allahabad High Court against a recent order from a court that asked that a police case be filed against them for allegedly slaughtering a calf.

Incidents like the mob lynching of a man in Uttar Pradesh's Dadri "damage" the image of the NDA government, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said, adding that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh - the BJP's ideological mentor - has nothing to do with them.
