"Vaikunta Ekadesi" was celebrated with religious fervour in the temple town of Srirangam today. As a part of the 21-day temple festival, Sri Namperumal, the festival deity bedecked in a suite of rubies and emeralds was carried in a golden palanquin and taken to "paramapada vassal" of the temple.
