Program to address rising cardiac ailements issue launched

Coimbatore: In its endeavour to making life saving advanced cardiac care therapies available to everyone, India Medtronic today launched an innovative and integrated program 'Healthy Heart for all,' in Tamil Nadu.

The program strives to address the key barriers of affordability, lack of proper diagnostic facilities and lack of awareness in making the right treatment available to the patients, Milind Shah, Vice-President, South Asia, and India Medtronic, told reporters here.

The company would provide loans to go for cardiac treatment, including implanting stent or pace maker, at an affordable 8.25 per cent interest, within three to 24 hours, with minimum paperwork and without any asset mortgage, he said.

The patients can pay back the loan in easy installments within a period of six to 60 months and even for extended Easy Monthly Installment period, the rate of interest was significantly lower than the other loan options available in the market, he said, adding that the company has so far advanced loans to 51 patients, with the maximum of Rs 5.5 lakh during last year.

The company has tie up with various hospitals across the state, as such treatment was available in majority of the towns and cities, Shah added.
