Too much bureaucracy in Indian hockey: Brasa

New Delhi: Indian hockey coach Jose Brasa on Thursday said that there was too bureaucracy in the game.

The Indian hockey team is currently training in Pune for the Champions Challenge in Argentina next month. But its Spanish coach, Jose Brasa, seems to be embroiled in a controversy after reports suggested that the players are extremely unhappy with his training methods and attitude.

It was also reported that five players didn't show up for the camp because of Brasa's behaviour.

Brasa, however, denied reports of rift in the team and said there was no problems with the players.

"The problem is not with players, problem is not with hockey. There is too much bureaucracy in the game," Brasa said.

The spanish coach said also it was difficult to work here but he would continue fighting.

"It's difficult to work here, but I will continue fighting," said Brasa.

"Some people maybe targetting me because I am very aggressive when asking for things to improve," he added

The AK Mattoo, President of Hockey India, is in Pune to meet Brasa and the players.
