Vipul Shah's London Dreams revolves around a young man's travails in trying to make it big in the music business and also stars Ajay Devgn and Asin Thottumkal.

The 67-year-old star has said that apart from the name Aladin, lamp and the genie, there is nothing in common between the film and the famous fable. "This is a contemporary story set in a make belief city," Bachchan said.

Salman even played a booking clerk for fans wanting advance bookings for his film at the Delite theatre in Delhi. Salman had emerged the winner among the audience when his Wanted was released on September 18 along with Rani Mukherjee, Shahid Kapur-starrer Dil Bole Hadippa, but this time he is likely to face a tough competition from Bachchan.

Bachchan also announced a donation of five lakh to the Make-a-Wish foundation, engaged in fulfilling the wish of terminally ill children, which had tied up with the film.

Salman left no stone unturned to catch the attention of his audience as he turned a ticket seller to promote London Dreams in Delhi.

Describing the film as "a special one", Ritesh Deshmukh said, "Director Sujoy Ghosh has taken a very bold step by making a film inspired by a fairy tale. He has de-constructed the character of Aladin and the film has turned out to be visually stunning."
