Chiranjeevi Jr, Kajal's eternal love in Maaveeran

Maaveeran, starring Ram Charan Teja and Kajal Agarwal, is the Tamil version of the Telugu blockbuster, Magadheera.

The Tamil version has been adapted to suit local tastes, say the makers of the film.

This socio-fantasy period film has been released through Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies.

Ram Charan (Harsha) and Kajal Agarwal (Indu) fall in love only to discover destiny has something else in store for them.

Indu was Harsha's soulmate 400 years ago in a previous birth.

Harsha was Kaala Bhairava a warrior in Udaigarh and Kajal Aggarwal was Yuvarani Mithravinda Devi the princess and heir apparent to the throne.

Kaala Bhairava was murdered while protecting the princess - only to be reborn 400 years later to avenge his death.

The original, Magadheera, remains a blockbuster with a reported opening collection of Rs 28 crore.

Reports suggest Magadheera will also hit theaters as Dheera in Malayalam.

Director SS Rajamouli hopes that the Tamil version will be as successful as the original.

Music director M. M. Keeravani and cinematographer K. K. Senthil Kumar have earned appreciation for their fabulous work.

Is a Bollywood remake of this Telugu classic on the anvil?

We will have to wait for that. Meanwhile there are the Telugu and Malayalam versions to look forward to!
