A youth allegedly thrashed his alcoholic father to death with an iron rod and a paver block at their residence in suburban Malwani, police said on Tuesday.
According to police, a heated argument had taken place last night between 21-year-old Imran Shaikh and his father Zaheer Khan (44), who was in an inebriated state, at their residence near Deluxe Bakery in Malwani.
Angry with his father for often quarrelling with the family after consuming alcohol, Imran allegedly picked up an iron rod and a paver block and hit his father.
Zaheer later succumbed to his injuries, police said, adding that Imran has been arrested for murder.
