New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday greeted the nation onthe auspicious occasion of Janmashtami that celebrates the birth of LordKrishna.
The Prime Minister said in a message that the festival celebrates the life and eternal teachings of Lord Krishna -discipline, knowledge and selfless action. "May the festival inspire us towards the goal of banishingignorance and poverty through education and herald peace and prosperity forall," he added.
Janmashtamiis being celebrated on Thursday.
