Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated and laid the foundation of multiple projects worth over Rs 13,000 crore in poll-bound Bihar.

- Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched several projects, including the 660 MW Buxar thermal power plant, worth a total of Rs 6,880 crore in Bihar's Gayaji district.
- He also flagged off two trains -- Amrit Bharat Express between Gayaji and Delhi and Buddhist Circuit train between Vaishali and Koderma.
- PM Modi also inaugurated the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre at Muzaffarpur and a sewerage treatment plant (STP) and sewerage network at Munger, constructed under the Namami Gange project, worth over Rs 520 crore.
- He also handed over symbolic keys to over 12,000 beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin), an affordable rural housing scheme.
- Addressing a public rally with Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on the dais, he said these projects will provide jobs to the state's people.
- The Prime Minister will later travel to Mokama in Patna district to inaugurate the 8.15 km Aunta-Simaria bridge. The structure includes a six-lane, 1.86 km stretch connecting Aunta in Mokama with Simaria in Begusarai district.
- The Bihar leg of the tour coincides with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's ongoing 'Voter Adhikar Yatra', aimed at mobilising public opinion on electoral reforms ahead of assembly elections due in the state later this year.
- Later in the day, he will shift focus to Kolkata, where he will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for transport projects worth over Rs 5,200 crore.
- At 4:15 pm, PM Modi will launch three new stretches of the Kolkata Metro, adding 13.62 km of length across three corridors -- Sealdah to Esplanade (2.45 km), Noapara to Jai Hind Bimanbandar (6.77 km) and Hemanta Mukhopadhyay to Beleghata (4.39 km).
- In addition, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation for a 7.2 km elevated corridor on the Kona Expressway, valued at over Rs 1,200 crore. The project aims to improve connectivity between Howrah and Kolkata.
