Shimla: A gangster-turned-politician from Punjab's Fazilka was shot dead by gunmen of a rival gang near Parwanoo on the Kalka-Shimla highway on Saturday morning.

Jagvinder Singh alias 'Rocky' was returning to Chandigarh from Shimla when he was shot at from a close range by a group of men on a bike and a car. While Mr Singh died on the spot, his driver Parambir was seriously injured and rushed to PGI Hospital in Chandigarh.
