India COVID-19 Highlights: the national COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 98.59% (Representational)
India recorded 10,649 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of Covid cases to 4,43,68,195.
According to the Union Health Ministry, the country also reported 36 deaths in the last 24 hours due to Covid, bringing the total number of Covid-related fatalities to 5,27,452.
The active cases comprise 0.22 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 98.59 per cent, the ministry said.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 4.15 per cent and the weekly positivity rate at 3.59 per cent, the ministry said.

Mumbai Records 793 Covid Cases, Two Deaths
Mumbai on Wednesday recorded 793 new coronavirus infections and two pandemic-related deaths, the civic body said. The caseload in the city rose to 11,40,566, while death toll increased to 19,677, said a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) bulletin.
Telangana Records 338 New Covid CasesTelangana on Wednesday recorded 338 new COVID-19 cases, taking the tally to 8,32, 933 so far. Hyderabad district saw the most number of cases at 135. A Health Department bulletin said 507 people recuperated from the infection and the cumulative number of recoveries was 8,26,269 till date.
Delhi Records 945 New Covid Cases, 6 DeathsDelhi on Wednesday recorded 945 fresh COVID-19 cases with a positivity rate of 5.55 per cent, while six more people died, according to data shared by the city health department. The fresh cases came out of 17,024 tests conducted the previous day, the department said in its latest bulletin.
Odisha Records 296 New Covid Cases, 2 Deaths
Odisha's COVID-19 tally rose to 13,25,766 on Wednesday as 296 more people, including 44 children, tested positive for the infection, a health bulletin said. Odisha had recorded 206 infections and a fatality on Tuesday.
Maharashtra's Thane Records 366 New COVID-19 Cases In 24 Hours
Thane district of Maharashtra has recorded 366 new COVID-19 cases, taking the tally of infections to 7,39,400, a health official said today.
With the addition of the latest numbers on Tuesday, the active COVID-19 tally in the district has reached 2,131 compared to 2,016 the previous day, he said.
One death was also reported on Tuesday, which raised the fatality count in Thane to 11,939.
The count of recoveries has reached 7,25,710, he added.
