Bathinda: Union Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal today described Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as "pack of lies" and "party of contradictions", saying their leaders have "lost" their base in masses.

During her visit to the city, the minister said AAP had made up an image of simplicity and austerity but it's the same party whose every leader is allegedly embroiled in a controversies.

"AAP leaders have lost their base in masses and parties like it are opportunists," she claimed.

She said in Punjab, AAP has managed to "mislead" people once, but the same would not be repeated and as now it has been "shredded into pieces".

"The AAP has split up in Punjab as there is no workmanship in leaders and cadre alike," she said adding it does not even consider it good enough to maintain good relations with its MPs.

To a query on problems of sugarcane farmers, the Union Minister said the Chief Minister of Punjab has already passed directives to give relief to the sugarcane farmers within a week.

"The basic problem of sugarcane is great disparity between the prices of sugarcane and sugar. In India, the sugarcane industry is reeling under crisis, but the condition of Punjab sugar mills is much better than country," she said.
