How serious is pain in the breast?

I recently experience severe pain in my left breast nipple. I haven't seen a doctor over this problem. Please advise.

Pain in the breast is quite common in young women and does not signify any serious problems. If it continues and is interfering with your life then you may go and see a doctor. However, if you are an elderly person then it is advisable to see a doctor at the earliest convenience.
