In 2014 General Elections, Kunwer Sarvesh Kumar from BJP was elected from Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh. He received 4,85,224 votes. His closest opponent was Dr. S. T. Hasan who contested on a ticket from Samajwadi party and received 3,97,720 votes.
In 2009 General Elections, Kunwer Sarvesh Kumar had contested on a BJP ticket and lost to Congress candidate Mohammed Azharuddin. Mohammed Azharuddin had received 3,01,283 votes and Kunwer Sarvesh had received 2,52,176 votes.
In 1957, Ram Saran from Congress was elected to parliament from Moradabad. In 1967, BJS candidate O.P.T. Pursharthi was elected. In 1971, Virendra Agarwal, another BJS candidate, was elected to parliament from Moradabad. In 1977 and 1980, Gulam Mohammad Khan was elected - first on a BLD ticket and then on JNP ticket.
In 1984, Hafiz Mohammad Siddique was elected on a Congress ticket. Then in 1989 and 1991, Gulam Mohammad Khan Haji was elected on a Janta Dal ticket. In 1996 and 1998, Shafiqur Rahman Warq was elected on a Samajwadi Party ticket. In 1999, Chandra Vijay Singh was elected on ABLTC ticket. In 2004, Shafiqur Rahman Warq returned to the parliament on Samajwadi party ticket.
For the General Election 2019, BJP has fielded the sitting MP Kunwar Sarvesh Kumar. Imran Pratapgarhi is contesting on a ticket from Congress and Dr. S. T. Hasan is contesting on a ticket from Samajwadi Party.
There are five assembly segments under the Moradabad constituency. These include Thakurdwara, Moradabad rural, Barhapur, Kanth, and Moradabad Nagar.
