In the 2014 General Election, Uma Bharti, veteran BJP leader, was elected from Jhansi constituency in Uttar Pradesh. She received 5,75,889 votes. Her closest opponent was Dr. Chadrapal Singh Yadav from Samajwadi Party who received 3,85,422 votes.
In the 2009 General Elections, Pradeep Kumar Jain from Congress was elected from Jhansi seat. He had received 2,52,712 votes. His closest opponent was BSP's Ramesh Kumar Sharma, who received 2,05,042 votes.
In 1971 General Election, Govind Dass Richharia from Congress was elected from Jhansi. In the 1977 elections, Sushila Naiyar was elected on a ticket from BLD. In the 1980 General Election, Vishwa Nath Sharma was elected on a ticket from INC (I) party.
In 1984, Sujan Singh Bundela was elected on a ticket from INC. In the 1989, 1991, 1996 and 1998 Lok Sabha election, Rajendra Agnihotri was elected from Jhansi on a ticket from BJP. In 1999 General Election, Sujan Singh Bundela was elected on a ticket from INC. In the 2004 election, Chandrapal Singh Yadav was elected from Jhansi on a ticket from Samajwadi Party.
The 2019 General Election in Jhansi constituency was held in the fourth phase. This time BJP fielded Anurag Sharma, Congress fielded Shivsharan, and Samajwadi Party gave ticket to Shyam Sundar Singh.
There are five assembly segments under the Jhansi parliamentary constituency. These include Babina, Jhansi Nagar, Mauranipur, Lalitpur, and Mehroni.
