In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Rekha was elected from Dhaurahra in Uttar Pradesh on a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket. She received 3,60,357 votes. Her closest opponent was Daud Ahmad of BSP who received 2,34,682 votes. Rekha won the constituency by a margin of 1,25,675 votes.
In 2009 general elections Dhaurahra seat was won by Kunwar Jitin Prasad of Congress. Dhaurahra came into existence in 2008 as a part of the implementation of delimitation of parliamentary constituencies based on the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission of India constituted in 2002.
Dhaurahra parliamentary constituency consists of five Vidhan Sabha seats these are Dhaurahra, Hargaon, Kasta, Maholi and Mohammdi.
Voting for Dhaurahra seat was concluded in the fifth phase of elections on May 6.
In the 2019 general elections BJP has fielded Rekha Verma, Congress candidate is Kunwar Jitin Prasad and BSP has fielded Arshad Iliyas Siddiqui as a candidate of Mahagathbandhan.
