About Siwan

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Om Prakash Yadav of the Bharatiya Janata Party was elected from the Siwan constituency in Bihar. He won with 3,72,670 votes defeating Hena Shahab of the Rashtriya Janata Dal by a margin of 1,13,847 votes.

In the 2009 general elections, Om Prakash Yadav of the Congress won the Siwan constituency by securing 2,36,194 votes (36.80 per cent of the total votes polled in the constituency) , defeating Hena Shahab of the RJD who received 1,72,764 votes (26.91 per cent).

There are six assembly seats under the Siwan constituency: Siwan, Ziradei, Darauli, Raghunathpur, Daraunda and Barharia.

Voting for the Siwan constituency was conducted in the sixth phase of general elections 2019 on May 12.

For the 2019 general elections, Hena Shahab from the Rashtriya Janata Dal is contesting for the Siwan constituency against Kavita Singh of the Janata Dal (United), and Balmiki Prasad Gupta of the Bahujan Samaj Party.
