Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Nara Lokesh, while interacting with students of ZP High School in Chandrapalem, Visakhapatnam, shared an interesting anecdote from his childhood and credited his mother for making him the person he is today.

A student asked Lokesh, "Lokesh anna, I have a question for you. When you were young, if you got low marks, what did your father do?"

Responding to the question, Lokesh said that whatever position he has reached today is because of his mother. He said that his father was always busy with politics, travelling from one place to another, and would return home late at night.

"Even if my father arrived at 11.30 pm or 12 am at night, he would be ready and leave by 5.30 am or 6 am in the morning. He would arrive after I went to sleep, and by the time I woke up, he would already be gone," Lokesh said.

He said that his mother was the person who raised him and brought him to this level in life. Recalling his childhood days, Lokesh said that if he got low marks, his mother would punish him and would show no mercy.

"If I got low marks, my mother would punish me, no mercy!" he said.

Sharing a childhood incident, Lokesh said that he had also done mischievous things. "Once, I tried to forge my mother's signature on my report card, but I got caught. I got a punishment for that," he recalled.

Lokesh said that whatever a mother does is out of love and for the child's own good. "Whatever a mother does, it's out of love, right? It's for our own good, right? So whatever level I have reached today, it's all because of my mother. I am standing here because of my mother," he said.
