The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a candidate advisory and detailed instructions for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 Session 2. The JEE Main 2026 exams are being conducted for around 11.23 lakh candidates from April 2 onwards. A total of 566 examination centres across 304 cities nationwide and 14 cities outside India have been set up to conduct the Computer-Based Test (CBT).

The NTA has advised all JEE Main 2026 candidates to report to the examination centre on or before the reporting time mentioned on the JEE Main admit card. Candidates reporting beyond the gate closing time will not be allowed to enter the examination hall. According to the advisory, candidates who have not registered through their Aadhaar need to report at least one hour before the gate closing time to get their biometrics recorded at the exam centre.

Important Documents and Items to Carry On Exam Day

 As per the NTA's instructions, students should carry the following documents on the day of the  JEE Main 2026 Session 2 examination.

  • Admit card downloaded from the NTA website
  • Two passport-sized photographs
  • A valid photo ID proof as uploaded in the online application form

Candidates will be given blank sheets for rough work at the examination centre. They must write their name and roll number at the top of the rough sheets.

The NTA warned candidates against unfair means and practises and stated that the exam centres are under CCTV surveillance and equipped with jammers.
