The first day of placements at Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) Roorkee saw companies recruiting students with a domestic offer as high as Rs 80 Lakhs per annum, though placements took place virtually. A total of 272 domestic jobs and three international jobs were offered.
This year, despite COVID-19 pandemic, the placements and offers of jobs show positive signs. Amazon, Jaguar Land Rover, JPMorgan Chase & Co, Goldman Sachs and Microsoft are among a host of companies that have recruited as many as 272 students on the first day of the IIT Roorkee placement session.
Comparing the highest domestic CTC, this year has recorded a package of Rs 80 Lakhs in comparison to the Rs 60 Lakh package of 2019-20.
During the first placement session in the academic year 2019-20, IIT Roorkee students secured 139 pre-placement offers. This year, the pre-placement offers – total 153, exceed last year's number.
