IIM Lucknow Faculty Members Named Directors For IIM Raipur And IIM Ranchi

New Delhi: The Appointments Cabinet Committee, on Tuesday, announced that two faculty members from IIM Lucknow have been appointed as Directors of IIM Raipur and IIM Ranchi. While Bharat Bhasker has been appointed the director of IIM Raipur, Shailendra Singh has been appointed as the director of IIM Ranchi. The Appointments Cabinet Committee was headed by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Committee also approved names of directors for 8 other IIMs including Bangalore, Bodh Gaya, Sirmaur, Visakhapatnam, Tiruchirappalli, Nagpur, Sambalpur, and Rohtak. Apart from IIM Bangalore rest all 9 IIMs in the list are relatively new. 

Commenting on the appointment of its faculty member as Directors, IIM Lucknow Director Ajit Prasad told IANS that it is a proud moment for the institute that two of its faculty members have been given the opportunity to lead such institutes of national importance. Emphasizing on the role of IIM Lucknow in the development of other IIMs around the country he said," As one of its core functions and as a prideful tradition, IIM Lucknow has been at the forefront of, contributing significantly to, mentoring up and coming IIMs."

Bharat Bhasker who has been appointed as the Director of IIM Raipur is from the IT and Systems department at IIM Lucknow. His areas of expertise are Data Management, Network Security, and Software Engineering. Previously, Bhasker has also served as the acting Director at IIM Lucknow in the year 2015.

Shailendra Singh who has been appointed the Director of IIM Ranchi, is currently posted at the Human Resource Management Department at IIM Lucknow. He holds a PhD in Organizational Behavior from IIT Kanpur and has also been involved in consultation work in the area of Education Management.
