In a major relief for nearly 1,100 students, CBSE has restored Uttarakhand Public School's affiliation in Noida, months after withdrawing it for violations of affiliation bylaws. The board's latest order allows students to continue their studies at the school without interruption, ending weeks of uncertainty ahead of the academic session.
Affiliation Restored With Warning
While revoking its earlier decision, CBSE has issued a strict warning to the school management, directing it to fully comply with affiliation norms. The board said the school will remain under close watch and may be inspected at any time to verify adherence to rules.
The affiliation had been cancelled on February 18 following court intervention, after an inquiry substantiated some allegations related to harassment and exploitation of female teachers. The move had left more than 1,000 students in limbo.
Decision Follows Appeals, Parent Protests
The decision comes after extensive deliberations with CBSE officials, representations by the school management, and continued concerns from parents, who had opposed the earlier decision and called for protecting students' academic interests.
CBSE reviewed its order after detailed discussions and submissions from the school. A fresh directive, approved by the board chairman, has now set aside the February decision with immediate effect.
Earlier Restrictions Now Lifted
Earlier, the CBSE had permitted Classes 10 and 12 to complete the 2025-26 session at the school to avoid disruption. However, students of Classes 9 and 11 were asked to shift to nearby affiliated schools by March 31, and the school was directed not to admit new students or promote existing ones to Classes 9 and 11.
With the latest order, these restrictions stand effectively lifted, restoring normal academic operations.
