Completely Deny AAP Charges, Says Delhi Cricket Body: Highlights
The Delhi Cricket Body reacts to the AAP allegations on massive corruption.

Here are the highlights of the presser:
  • Want to clear that we don't want to hide anything
  • One allegation is that we gave the contract to EPIL for 27 crore, that was for ground floor only
  • But after 3 stories were built because were told that capacity was quite less
  • We wanted the capacity to go upto 40000-45000
  • So the cost went upto 57 crore and 20 lakhs
  • But this amount is spent only on civil work. A stadium alone cannot be built on that.
  • This was just the blueprint, therefore the total cost rose to 114 crores
  • Mumbai Kerala Chennai stadiums have been built in around Rs 300 crore, which is very high
  • Therefore our 114 crore in comparison to others is very little
  • So as you can see, everything was done as frugally as possible
  • Therefore we deny the charge of misuse of funds
  • We are not trying to 'save' anyone
  • The former DDCA president, don't want to take his name, we relieved him as well, the matter is in court
  • We want transparency and complaints to be addressed as soon as they come up
  • I have been made working President. We are slowly taking action so that there are no corruption complaints
  • When I came to Delhi , the population was 28 lakhs. Now it is 1.5 to 2 crore.
  • AAP itself is showing a DDCA inquiry fact finding committee report
  • The charge of siphoning money will be legally probed and the guilty will be brought to book
  • Arun Jaitley left because he was being given very important responsibility by the party as general elections were round the corner
  • We wanted him to continue, but he said the responsibility was too much and as such
  • He was President for 13 years. He does not interfere in day to day working of DDCA
  • This stadium was in poor condition. Because of his efforts, we have got a beautiful stadium
