New form to get NOC for passports in Punjab

Chandigarh: To streamline and check the undue delay in renewal and fresh issuance of passports to the government employees, the Punjab government has introduced a new form to obtain the No Objection Certificates (NOC) from their respective departments in this regard.

The required instructions have also been sent to the officers concerned for immediate and vigorous implementation of the new guidelines.

In a release on Monday, a spokesperson of the government said that all the central and state government employees, employees of statutory bodies and public sector undertakings, their spouses, children up to the age of 18 years are required to submit an identity certificate, as mentioned in Annexure B, at the time of applying for the passports and similarly a laid down Performa on Annexture M available on the website www.passportindia.gov.in is also to be filled.

The officer authorised to issue the NOC should sign with name and stamp and must provide contact details for verification by the passport authority.

The NOC would be valid for six months from the date of issue, besides all the other formalities remaining the same, the spokesperson said.
