Vespa 946 Horse Edition Breaks Cover Globally: Pics

Vespa has expanded its exclusive 946 line with the global reveal of the Vespa 946 Horse, a limited-edition scooter inspired by the Year of the Horse. This latest addition continues Vespa's tradition of turning the 946 into a collector's item rather than a regular road scooter. While it retains the iconic silhouette of the 946, the Horse edition introduces new design touches.

Over the years, Vespa has released several special editions of the 946, often themed around the Chinese Zodiac. With 2026 marking the Year of the Horse, the Italian brand has unveiled this striking version to celebrate the occasion.

The design of the 946 Horse leans heavily into its theme. Finished in a rich bay brown shade, the scooter exudes a sense of control and elegance. Gold accents highlight key areas of the bodywork, adding contrast without disrupting the clean lines. A unique detail lies beneath the seat - a V-shaped monogram set within a horseshoe design, tying the visual identity directly to the horse motif.

Premium materials elevate the scooter further. Vespa has used handcrafted Italian leather across the saddle, handlebar grips, and mirror trims. This choice reflects traditional riding gear, adding texture and authenticity rather than flashy embellishments.

To complement the scooter, Vespa has introduced a matching set of accessories. These include a rear-mounted leather bag finished in the same material as the seat, a windshield supported by aluminium brackets, and a jet-style helmet featuring a gold "V" emblem. Together, they create a complete package that mirrors the scooter's identity and enhances its collector appeal.

Mechanically, the 946 Horse remains close to the standard model. It is expected to use the familiar 125cc single-cylinder engine, producing around 11.4 bhp, with the same suspension and braking setup as earlier versions. Pre-orders for the scooter opened on 26 January through Vespa's official website and its Milan retail outlet. Pricing details and broader market availability are yet to be announced.
