Suzuki Motorcycle India has issued a recall for two of its most popular 250cc bikes in India- the Gixxer 250 and the Gixxer SF 250. According to reports, the recall has been issued over rear brake issues. Suzuki clarified that the rear brake caliper assembly, dedicated to the V-Strom 250, was installed on the Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250, leading to improper contact between the brake pads and brake discs. This improper contact might lead to uneven wear and tear of the pads, further leading to inefficient braking performance. Previously, Suzuki Motorcycle India issued a recall for the Suzuki Gixxer 250, Gixxer SF 250, and the V-Strom SX in February 2024, over an engine camshaft issue.

Suzuki is reaching out to affected customers and requesting them to visit their nearest service center on appointment. There, technicians will inspect the motorcycle and carry out the necessary repairs at no cost to the customer.

The Suzuki Gixxer 250 and the Gixxer SF 250 are powered by a 249cc single-cylinder SOHC 4V oil-cooled engine, capable of churning out about 26.5 hp and 22 Nm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
