Skoda Octavia RS Launched At Rs 50 Lakh: Design, Specs, Performance & More

Skoda Auto India is celebrating its 25th anniversary, and the company has used the occasion to bring one of its most-desriable offering to the Indian shores. Yes, indeed the Skoda Octavia RS. The perfomance saloon will be on sale in limited units only, and it comes to our roads via the CBU route. The Skoa Octavia RS is launched at a price tage of Rs 49.99 lakh, ex-showroom. It enjoys a strong cult among Indian car enthusiasts. The nameplate is honoured for its performance since its first introduction to our market in the year 2004.

Skoda Octavia RS: Performance

Under the bonnet, the Octavia RS hides a 2.0 TSI turbocharged petrol engine, belting out a peak power output of 265 Hp and 370 Nm of max torque. The power is channelled to wheels via a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission, making it sprint form standstill to 100 kmph in just 6.4 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited at 250 kmph.

The all-new Octavia RS continues Skoda's bold design language, accentuated by full LED Matrix headlights, LED tail lamps with dynamic indicators, and glossy black styling elements. Sitting on striking 19-inch Elias anthracite alloy wheels with low-profile 225/40 R19 sports tyres, the car projects an unmistakably sporty and aggressive stance. Measuring 4,709 mm in length, 1,829 mm in width, and 1,457 mm in height, along with a wheelbase of 2,677 mm, and a segment-leading boot capacity of 600 litres (expandable to 1,555 litres with the rear seats folded), the Octavia RS balances sleek proportions with everyday usability. Its dynamic silhouette is further complemented by a choice of five vibrant colour options: Mamba Green, Candy White, Race Blue, Magic Black, and Velvet Red.

Inside, the Octavia RS strikes a balance between sportiness and premium comfort. The cabin features Suedia/Leather upholstery with red contrast stitching, Sports front seats with electric adjust, memory, heating and massage functions, along with ambient lighting, and a virtual cockpit. Customers also benefit from three-zone climate control, wireless charging, and a 32.77cm infotainment system with wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Skoda Octavia RS: Safety

The Octavia RS is equipped with Skoda's latest ADAS suite, including Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Assist, and Intelligent Park Assist. Safety is further enhanced with 10 airbags, a 360-degree Area View camera, ISOFIX child seat mounts, a Head-Up Display, and driving stability systems. The car also features the premium Canton 675W 11-speaker sound system with subwoofer, along with an electrically operated boot with virtual pedal, and a bunch of Simply Clever features, among others.
