Citroen has teased the updated eC3 electric hatchback ahead of its launch in India, signalling a midlife refresh for the brand's entry-level EV. In line with its revised naming strategy, the updated model will carry the 'X' suffix and is expected to be called the Citroen eC3 X.

The teaser image highlights several styling revisions aimed at enhancing the hatchback's visual appeal. The front fascia features a redesigned bumper with a silver skid plate-like element, lending it a more rugged character. The updated model will also get LED daytime running lamps and LED fog lamps, marking a noticeable upgrade over the current version.

Additional changes include outside rearview mirrors with integrated turn indicators and a fresh set of dual-tone alloy wheels. These updates are expected to align the eC3 X with the design language seen on other recently updated Citroen models, such as the C3 X, Aircross X, and Basalt X.

Inside the cabin, the eC3 X is likely to receive a range of new features focused on improving comfort and convenience. Expected additions include a Metropolitan leatherette-wrapped steering wheel and dashboard, cruise control with a speed limiter, LED ambient lighting, fast USB Type-C charging ports, auto-dimming IRVM, and automatic climate control.

Citroen may also offer a 360-degree camera, similar to the C3 X. The existing 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is expected to be retained.

On the safety front, the eC3 X is likely to be equipped with six airbags along with features such as electronic stability program (ESP), ABS with EBD, hill hold assist, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), speed-sensitive door locks, and an engine immobiliser.

Mechanically, the electric hatchback is expected to continue with the same 29.2 kWh battery pack, offering a claimed range of around 320 km on a single charge. The electric motor produces 57 PS and 143 Nm of torque, with a top speed of 107 km/h.

Pricing will remain a key factor, as the current eC3 is positioned between Rs 12.9 lakh and Rs 13.26 lakh (ex-showroom), while competitors offer more features at lower price points. The electric vehicle competes against models like the Tata Punch EV and others.
