Farmer drowns in agricultural well

Karimnagar: A 55-year-old farmer who received current shock at his farm fell into an agricultural well and drowned in Ippalapalli village of Kathalapur mandal on Monday.

According to police, the farmer, Chinna Pedda Gangaram, went to his farm to irrigate his turmeric and chilli crop in his 1.5-acre land.

The incident occurred when he tried to repair his motor which already failed due to short circuit, he received current shock and fell into the agricultural well after which he received head injuries and eventually drowned.

Listening to his call for help while falling into the well, his wife, Gangu, rushed to the farm and alerted villagers about it. The farmer's body was fished out of the well with help of villagers.
