Why Sonia said no to red beacons for MP's cars

After lots of lobbying, lots of letter writing and a report by the privileges committee of Lok Sabha, our MPs were all set to get a present of red lights in their cars. The ministry of roads and highways, the ministry of home affairs, all thought it was a bad idea, but were almost able to push their way with this - till Congress President Sonia Gandhi put her foot down.
