Pak terror attack: Implications for India

New Delhi: The latest spate of terror attacks in Pakistan could be a big worry for India; if it's Lahore today, it could be Amritsar or other Indian cities tomorrow.

First, it was the audacious attack on the Pakistan Army Headquarters in Rawalpindi last week, and now it was the turn of Lahore.

The targets were the heart of the Pakistani establishment. The Taliban executed the operations with ease and maximum impact. It was almost unthinkable that their one time patrons -- the Army -- would also be a target.

Watching nervously was New Delhi and Washington, wondering whether the civilian government in Pakistan is fast losing grip of the situation?

Indian officials are particularly concerned that the Taliban reached just 16 km from the Wagah border. In Delhi, the Home Minister said they were deeply concerned.

The question now is -- will these terror attacks put the Pakistan-US plans of a major terror offensive in Wazirstan against the Taliban on the backburner?
